Sec. 109.8. "Emergency medical responder", for purposes of IC 16-31, means an individual who is: (1) certified under IC 16-31 and who meets the Indiana emergency medical services commission's standards for emergency medical responder certification; and (2) the first individual to respond to an incident requiring emergency medical services.
