Chapter 18. Housing Authorities

Sec. 1. (a) This chapter applies to all units except townships. (b) Only the sections of this chapter that are listed in section 1.5 of this chapter apply to a consolidated city that by ordinance establishes or designates a department, division, or agency of the city to perform the public housing function. (c) An ordinance establishing or designating a department, division, or agency of a consolidated city to perform the public housing function may not impair the obligations of the housing authority existing under any contract in effect at the time that ordinance is effective. The consolidated city shall fulfill any obligations of the housing authority that are transferred to the consolidated city.
