Bills are half the story. Billy tracks rulemaking too — so a comment deadline never slips past you.
What Billy tracks
The Regulations section follows rulemaking the same way Billy follows bills. Each entry is a rulemaking — a docket that may accumulate several published documents (a proposed rule, comment notices, a final rule) over its life. Billy groups those documents into one timeline so you see the whole arc, not a scatter of notices.
- Federal Register— proposed and final rules across every federal agency, refreshed hourly, with the agency’s own official abstract as the summary.
- Indiana Register — state rulemaking by LSA docket, with agencies and comment-period deadlines.
Find and track a rule
- Search — keyword search over titles, abstracts, and docket numbers, or switch to Semanticmode to search by meaning (“emissions reporting for small manufacturers”). Results default to this workspace’s jurisdictions.
- Filter by stage (proposed, final, withdrawn) or limit to rules with an open comment period.
- Track a rule to pin it to your workspace. Tracked rules carry a position (support, oppose, monitor, seek amendment), just like tracked bills.
Alerts
Tracked rules feed the same channels as bills — the workspace feed, the notification bell, email digests, and Slack:
- Stage changes — a proposed rule goes final, or a rulemaking is withdrawn.
- New documents — a fresh notice or correction lands on a docket you track.
- Comment deadlines — a reminder seven days before a comment window closes, and again the day before.
Coverage today
Regulatory coverage launched with the Federal Register and the Indiana Register, matching Billy’s deepest bill coverage. More state registers are on the way — coverage grows the same way bill coverage does, jurisdiction by jurisdiction.
