Passkeys give you a faster, phishing-resistant way to sign in.

What passkeys are

A passkey signs you in with your device’s own unlock — Face ID, Touch ID, Windows Hello, or a hardware security key — instead of an emailed link. There is no password to guess and nothing to phish: the key only works on Billy’s real domain, and the secret never leaves your device.

Passkeys are personal to your account (not to a workspace) and sit alongside email sign-in — you can always fall back to the email link.

Add a passkey

  1. Open Settings → Security in any workspace.
  2. Click Add passkey and follow your browser’s prompt — it will offer your device unlock or a security key.
  3. Give it a recognizable name (“MacBook”, “YubiKey”) so you can tell your devices apart later.

Next time you sign in, choose Continue with passkey on the login page.

Rename or remove

  • Rename a passkey any time from Settings → Security — the name is just a label for you.
  • Remove a passkey when you retire or lose a device. Removing it here means that device can no longer sign in with it; email sign-in keeps working regardless.
